Become an ASHRAE-Certified professional

Earning an ASHRAE certification assures employers and clients that the certificant has mastered the body of knowledge associated with the respective field. Because an important purpose of bEQ is to recognize owners who have chosen to optimize their buildings' energy performance, the program has to ensure that individuals who evaluate actual energy performance of existing facilities or who develop the standardized energy model to evaluate as-built conditions are fully competent professionals.

• To receive an In Operation rating, building owners must engage the services of professionals who have earned the ASHRAE-Certified Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) designation.
